Dagar laid the foundation stone of DHRUPAD
SANSTHAN - a residential dhrupad Gurukul and
also performed Bhoomi Poojan.
The legendary vocalist Padma Vibhushan
Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Inaugurated the first
building of Gurukul on 4th Nov. 2004 .
Dhrupad Sansthan ( an institute of dhrupad)
is a registered ( Registration number
063160107 ) under Foreign Contribution
(Regulation) Act, 1976. Dhrupad Institute is
eligible to accept donations anytime
directly from anybody in the world. The
donation can be sent by cheque or bank draft
in the name of 'DHRUPAD SANSTHAN BHOPAL
TRUST' . One can also electronically

Dhrupad Sansthan ( As a non profit making
organization) has also got certificate under
section 80 G of the Income Tax Act,1961,
hence the Indian donors will get 50% tax
deduction on the donations made to Dhrupad
Sansthan.
The Dhrupad Institute in Bhopal aspires to
promote and preserve the rich heritage of
Indian Classical Form Dhrupad through the
'Guru Shishya Parampara'. Guru Shishya
Paramapara is the ancient tradition of
learning wherein the students devote their
lives to learn from their Gurus. The
students are nurtured and groomed to become
accomplished performers . This GURUKUL is
the first of its kind for Dhrupad Style in
India. Approximately 20 indian and foreign
students are learning Dhrupad full time in
Gurukul. Gurukul also provides free
education , lodging and boarding to needy
and talented students .The mode of learning
is specially designed to provide the
students ample opportunity to be in close
affinity of their Gurus, listening and
learning from them.
In the Gurukul, besides imparting the
training in Dhrupad Vocal form, the various
instruments are also taught in Dhrupad style
of music. In addition , the institute also
offers short termed courses focused at
learning Dhrupad , Music appreciation.
Institute organizes time to time Workshops
for the music lovers and gurukul students.
Practicing meditation and Yoga based on
Dhrupad is also one of the other endeavors
the institute plans to encourage. The
institute aims to document, archive and
research available information about
Dhrupad, its illustrious history , audio and
video reference materials , musical texts
and biographies of all the legends of
dhrupad.
The institutes has a vast audio, video and
books library related to Dhrupad Music.
